In Lititz, 8 miles / 13 km north of Lancaster, are the Candy Americana Museum and Candy Outlet (48 North Broad Street) and the Sturgis Pretzel House (219 Main Street), the oldest pretzel bakery in the United States (1784).
The Candy Americana Museum began in 1972 with Penny Buzzard's collection of 1000 varieties of molds, tins, and boxes. All phases of the candy industry, including manufacturing, packaging, and advertising are featured in the museum.

The grave is located in the Moravian Cemetery, John Sutter lived in Lititz while battling Congress to receive compensation for the California land. Sutter was known as the founder of Sacramento California.
The first pretzel bakery in the United States was said to have been started by Julius Sturgis in 1861. Pretzels are still baked in the 200-year-old ovens.
