Harmony Attractions

A communal settlement was set up in 1804 by George Rapp and his Harmony Society. Over the next 10 years, over 100 members died and were buried in a little graveyard in numbered but not marked graves. Several brick buildings still remain from the original settlement.
Harmony Museum
The Harmony Museum is home to relics that belonged to the Harmony Society, and the Mennonites, they acquired the town from the Harmonists. The Harmonist's were a communal group and the furniture is displayed to depict their lifestyle. The docent's description of Harmonist beliefs and accomplishments are also exhibited.
