The military history of the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania is featured at the Pennsylvania Military Museum, emphasizing roles of Pennsylvania based units and Pennsylvanians who served in all branches of the armed services during the 20th century. The 28th Division Shrine, housed on the museum grounds, was created by the 28th Division veterans of World War I to honor their service in France. A second memorial is dedicated to the men who gave their lives in World War II. The Pennsylvania Military Museum is one of the 26 historic sites along the Pennsylvania Trail of History.
