Los Haïtises National Park

(Local Name: Parque Nacional Los Haïtises) Parque Nacional Los Haïtises is a humid tropical forest of 1,200 sq km/456 sq mi in area and offers jungle-covered islands and thick mangrove forests.

Strange rock formations (mogotes) emerging from the sea and bird-filled caves like the Cueva del Angel are included within the park.

During January and February 80% of the world's humpback whales mate and bear young in the waters off the Los Haïtises.
