Peliatan is not a particularly interesting village, and its temples are not of particular importance, with one exception - Pura Pande, the Temple of the Smiths. It is a reminder that on Bali each professional group has its own temple, dedicated to the gods who offer its members protection and counsel.
The Pura Pande has a very handsome covered gate (candi korung) built of red brick and white tufa. On the protective wall (aling-aling) beyond the gate designed to keep out demons is a fine Garuda figure. There is another aling-aling in front of the steps leading up to the innermost precinct of the temple.
