Curu Wildlife Reserve Description
(Local Name: Refugio de Vida Silvestre Curú) Found on the eastern tip of the Nicoya Peninsula, this small 84ha/207ac refuge features a great variety of habitats. Curú includes deciduous and semi-deciduous forests, mangrove swamps, rocky headlands and sandy beaches fringed with palm trees. Many creatures live in the reserve, including over 200 species of birds, monkeys, pacas, deer, crabs, lobsters, iguanas, turtles, and three species of cats.
