Palazzolo Acréide - Theater
To the east of the main road in Palazzolo Acréide stands the most important building of all, the Theater, probably constructed in the third century B.C. under Hieron II of Syracuse and rebuilt in Roman times. It seated about 600 spectators. Twelve rows of seats, the stone platform for the orchestra and the foundations of the stage have been preserved.
