Paderborn - Cathedral of St Mary, St Liborius and St Kilian

In the Domplatz, in the center of the old town of Paderborn, stands the Cathedral of St Mary, St Liborius and St Kilian (11th-13th c.; R.C.), a long building (over 100m/330ft) with a 94m/308ft high west tower which is a distinctive landmark. The main south doorway (the Paradise Doorway) has interesting Romanesque figural decoration (1250-60). The most notable features of the interior are a number of fine monuments (including the tomb of Bishop Dietrich von Fürstenberg, d. 1618), the relics of St Liborius in the large crypt and the episcopal burial vault. In the cloister is an unusual stained glass window, the 16th C. Hasenfenster ("Hare Window"), depicting three hares with only three ears between them.
