Ottawa - Canadian Tulip Festival

Ottawa'sFestival of Spring: in mid-May this spring festival marks the ending of winter as the tulips - given by Queen Juliana of the Netherlands in gratitude for the city's hospitality during the Second World War - come into bloom all over the city. The canal banks are the scene of general festivities, full of festival-goers, including those from the nearby Arts Center.

The Canadian Tulip Festival is one of Ottawa's annual highlights.
