Drake Bay Description
(Local Name: Bahía Drake) Drake Bay is an attractive area and a popular destination on the Osa Peninsula. Explorer Sir Francis Drake is believed to have visited the bay in March of 1579, and there is a monument of this event at Agujitas Point. From Drake Bay, several excursions are offered to surrounding attractions, including Corcovado National Park and Caño Island.

Diving, hiking and horseback riding are popular activities. There are several opportunities for sportfishing, canoeing and kayaking as well. Drake Bay offers some of the finest wilderness lodges in Costa Rica.
