Orosi Valley - Ujarrás

This village was damaged by the flood of 1833 and subsequently abandoned. Since the water has receded the ruins of the village have become a popular attraction combined with the pleasant hike it takes to reach them.

The ruined church built in 1693 is of particular interest and is surrounded by parklands. Each year on the third Sunday in April there is an early morning procession on foot to the church ruins from Paraíso, where a mass is said. Local food and music are also featured in this fiesta that celebrates the day of La Virgen de Ujarrás.
