Orlando - Universal Studios

Universal Studios Orlando is a combination theme park and working television and film studio. It was designed in consultation with Steven Spielberg to give visitors an interactive experience with the movies. Among the more than 40 rides and attractions at the 444-acre site are the following:

"Men in Black: Alien Attack" where visitors have to save the planet;"The Simpsons Ride", "Shrek 4-D", "Jaws", "Revenge of the Mummy", and "Twister" where visitors play the role of tornado chasers.

Of course the traditional "ET Adventure" is still available, which involves an escape from earth and intergalactic journey to ET's home planet.

The park is divided up into six different areas: the Front Lot, Production Central, Hollywood, New York, Expo Center and San Francisco/Amity. These are sometimes used as movie sets and visitors might catch a glimpse of a production in progress.

CityWalk is a 30-acre entertainment complex that features celebrity-themed restaurants, specialty shops, and movie theaters. In the evening, many nightclubs and restaurants feature live performances.

Islands of Adventures
Part of the Universal Studios Park, these five theme islands contain a variety of rides, shows and attractions. They are:

"The Lost Continent" with an emphasis on myths and legends.

"Toon Lagoon" where cartoon characters play the starring roles, home to the "Dudley Dooright" flume ride.

"Marvel Super Hero Island" with Marvel comic book characters such as Spiderman and The Hulk.

"Jurassic Park" has dinosaurs and pre-historic life.

"Seuss Landing" is based on the characters of the popular children's author, Dr. Seuss.
