Troutdale - Depot Rail Museum
The Troutdale Depot was rebuilt in 1907 after the original building burned down. The building was moved to its present location in Depot Park after it was donated to the town by the Union Pacific Railroad in 1976. The museum contains a number of railroad items.
Bridal Veil Falls State Park
The Bridal Veil Falls State Park is located on the Columbia River Scenic Highway. The park offers hiking opportunities to the Bridal Veil Falls and to a viewpoint over the gorge of the Columbia River. From the falls visitors can view the Pillars of Hercules, a basalt tower.
Beaverton, Oregon
Beaverton is located in the northwest corner of Oregon. The town was once known for the large number of beaver dams for which it was named. It is now better known for its electronics industry.

The town of Columbia City is home to the Caples House which was built in 1870. Today the house and buildings occupy an entire city block and function as a museum depicting pioneer life and the history of the town.

Newberg, Oregon
Newberg (pop. 18,000) was the first city in Oregon to hold Quaker services. Quakers settled in this area in the 1870's and founded what is now the George Fox University. The surrounding area is known for its agriculture, particularly hazelnuts.
Champoeg State Heritage Area
The Champoeg State Heritage Area is located southeast of Newberg. It is the site of the 1834 vote to form Oregon's first provisional government. The park is a scenic area with camping and picnic facilities. The park's forest and wetlands are great places for viewing wildlife.
Robert Newell House Museum
The Robert Newell House Museum in the Champoeg State Heritage Area is a reconstruction of an 1852 home. The collection includes gowns of governors' wives, antique quilts and other period items. Also on the grounds are a historic jail and school house.
Pioneer Mothers' Memorial Cabin
The Pioneer Mothers' Memorial Cabin in the Champoeg State Heritage Area is furnished with pioneer items. It was built in 1931 as a memorial to pioneer mothers.
Hoover-Minthorn House Museum
The Hoover-Minthorn House Museum in Newberg is located in a restored 1881 house which was the former home of Herbert Hoover. He lived in the house for only four years while growing up but the home is on the National Register of Historic Places. It contains original furnishings and photographs.
Oregon City, Oregon
Oregon City (pop. 29,000) was originally the state capital. It is located on the Willamette River at Willamette Falls. A public elevator gives access to the higher residential and business area where fine views can be had over the town and falls.
McLoughlin House
The McLoughlin House in Oregon City is on the National Register of Historic Places and is operated by the National Park Service as a unit of Fort Vancouver National Historic Site. It was built in 1845 by John McLoughlin, a Canadian who worked for the British Hudson's Bay Company. The house still contains original furnishings.
Clackamas County Historical Museum
The Clackamas County Historical Museum in Oregon City features the history of Clackamas County. Displays include an Oregon Trail covered wagon, American Indian artifacts, a library and photographs.
End of the Oregon Trail Interpretive Center
The Interpretive Center in Oregon City details the journey of settlers who made their way along the Oregon Trail. Approximately 300,000 people used this route, many of them dying along the way due to poor conditions.
Oregon City Carnegie Center
The Oregon City Carnegie Center has functioned as a library since 1912, and is currently a public art and community center.
Stevens-Crawford House
The Stevens-Crawford House in Oregon City was built in 1907-08. It still contains many of the original furnishings and clothing from that era.
Canby, Oregon
The town of Canby (12,800) is located southwest of Portland. The town features a number of historic attractions including Oregon's oldest standing railroad station.
Canby Depot Museum
The Canby Depot began operation in 1870 and closed in 1976. In 1984, the Depot was moved to a new location and is now open to the public as the Canby Depot Museum. Exhibits include school materials, antique toys, photos, and local doctor displays.

The Barlow House in Canby was built in 1885 and is on the National Register of Historic Places.

Aurora, Oregon
Founded in 1856, the town of Aurora is located in northwest Oregon. It has many old buildings, including many antique stores.
Old Aurora Colony Museum
150 years ago Aurora was settled by 400 German immigrants from Missouri forming a communal society lasting 25 years. The Old Aurora Colony Museum includes the Ox Barn, Kraus House, Summer Kitchen, Steinbach Cabin all furnished, and the reproduction Tie Shed. Artifacts include, furniture, household items, tools, clothing, musical instruments, quilts, and much more. Aurora was the first National Historic District in Oregon established in 1974 because of the unique history and contributions by the colony to Oregon.
St Paul, Oregon
The small town of St Paul is named after the Saint Paul Mission. The downtown area which is designated a National Historic District maintains some of its original buildings.
Heirloom Rose Gardens
The Heirloom Rose Gardens in St Paul have three English style gardens featuring a large variety of roses. The peak blooming time is in mid June.

The small town of Estacada (pop. 2,370) is located 30mi/48km southeast of Portland. It is the gateway to Mount Hood National Forest and a great place for outdoor recreational opportunities.
Eagle Creek National Fish Hatchery
The Eagle Creek National Fish Hatchery is located east of Estacada. Visitors can view trout and salmon. The best viewing time is during steelhead spawning from March to June.
