Mount Hood stands at more than 4,700 meters (11,235 ft). It towers over the surrounding Mount Hood National Forest. This dormant volcano is the highest mountain in Oregon and home to five ski areas.
The Mount Hood Meadows Hill offers a wide range of skiing terrain. Most of the runs are intermediate or advanced. There are ten lifts, including four high speed quads. Snowcat skiing is also available for those looking for more vertical than the 2,777ft/846m accessible by chair lift.

The Mt Hood Skibowl features four double chair lifts and five tows. The 65 runs are mainly intermediate and advanced with a maximum vertical lift of 1,500ft/457m. The hill also caters to snowboarders with a new terrain park. The season runs from mid November to mid April.
Timberline Lodge is the only year-round ski facility in the United States. It closes for only two weeks in September.
The hill has six lifts, including four quad express chairs, with mainly intermediate and beginner runs. The facility boasts 3,580 vertical feet, giving it the largest vertical terrain in the Northwest.
