Schloss Oranienburg Description
Schloss Oranienburg was built in 1651-55 (by J. G. Memhardt and M. M. Smids) and altered and enlarged in 1688-95 (by J. A. Nering and M. Grünberg); on the town front can be seen an attic story with figures of the Seasons. Restored in 1948-60 after wartime destruction, the interior is now entirely modern in style except for the Porcelain Cabinet (stucco ceiling; painting by Terwesten, restored 1965). The house is not open to the public.
