Opatija - Villa Angiolina

The neo-Classical Villa Angiolina has long been a classic sight in Opatija. Villa Angiolina was built in the mid 19th Century by Iginio Scarpa and was Opatija's first classy hotel. It became one of the in places to stay after Empress Maria Anna of Astria came to stay at the villa. The interior is graced with Corinthian capitals, frescoes, and floor mosaics.

The exterior boasts a beautiful park like setting landscaped by Carl Schubert, a Viennese architect, and contains local and exotic plant species. Flowerbeds provide extraordinary color in the spring and summer.
