Trollskogen

To the north, east and south in Öland extends a large park (some 6,000 hectares/15,000 acres) with over 50 different species of trees. Within the park is Trollskogen, a wood of pine-trees twisted into bizarre shapes by the wind. At the northwestern tip of the island stands a lighthouse popularly known as Långe Erik (Long Eric). South of this, on the east coast, is the Böda inlet, with a sandy beach and a wood, Kronoskogen (wild orchids). On the west side are Byerums Raukar, the only raukar on Öland. To the south is the Hornsjö, Öland's only lake.
