Lawton - Wichita Mountains Wildlife Refuge
The Wichita Mountains Wildlife Refuge, a protected area north of Lawton, has everything that hikers, climbers and animal watchers could possibly wish for (bison, longhorn and other grazing animals).
Established in 1901, the 59,000 acre refuge has mixed grass prairie - a piece of the past rarely found anywhere else.
