Zanesville Attractions

Zanesville is home to numerous artists and is a wonderful spot to browse galleries and shops for some unique items. Pottery has always been a tradition in Zanesville and continues to be an important part of the community today. Visitors can see artists at work at many of the galleries. The National Ceramic Museum & Heritage Center in nearby Crooksville is a good place to learn about the history of pottery, with different themes explored in five different buildings.

The Lorena Sternwheeler in Zanesville cruises the Muskingum River, offering passengers a fun experience on this river boat. The company offers dinner cruises, lunch cruises, and twilight cruises in addition to the standard public ride schedule. This is a fun way to spend a couple hours while taking in some of the local sites of the Zanesville area.

Zanesville Art Center
The Zanesville Art Center is the cultural center of town. Here visitors will find an amazing variety of art featuring paintings by Albert Bierstadt, William Merritt Chase, George Luks, and Theodore Robinson. Of special note is a doll collection by Madame Alexander. The Zanesville Art Center also hosts a variety of national and international traveling exhibits so be sure to check to see what's coming to town.
