Wellston Attractions
The town of Wellston is located near the southern tip of Ohio. Here visitors will find a pleasant place to visit with some interesting shops and restaurants. Harvey Wells founded the town in 1873. Of note is the Sylvester Memorial Library that boasts of 31,000 volumes and subscriptions to over 90 periodicals.
Buckeye Furnace
Buckeye Furnace State Memorial near Wellston is the remains of the 1851 Buckeye Furnace, one of the many charcoal furnaces that operated in this region. The Buckeye Furnace has been restored and recreated to show how the facility would have looked when it operated in the mid 19th Century.
