Oberlin Attractions

Oberlin is a pleasant community to visit. It's home to Oberlin College, with a history that stretches back to 1833. Oberlin has a historic downtown area with numerous shops and restaurants. Explore the town on foot or by bike on the extensive bike trails that run through the town.

For an architectural treat be sure to see the Frank Lloyd Wright House, operated by the Oberlin College.
Jewett House
Jewett House is a brick Victorian house that was completed in 1884. It was home to Oberlin College chemistry professor Frank Fanning Jewett and his family. The tour of the house focuses on the rapid technological advancement of the 1880s, social reform, and life from 1880s-1910s.

Oberlin Heritage Center
The Oberlin Heritage Center consists of three buildings all located in the town of the same name. The three buildings are the Little Red Schoolhouse, Monroe House, and Jewett House and all were built in the 19th Century. The Oberlin Heritage Center hosts a number of events throughout the year including day camps, lectures, and performances.

Visitors can can hear stories about the founding of Oberlin, the Underground Railroad, and Oberlin College on guided tours that are offered on select days of the week.
