The city of North Canton was originally settled as New Berlin in 1831, changed its name in 1918, and has grown ever since. Canton has an active Arts and Culture scene with two of the major venues, The Little Art Gallery, and The North Canton Play House hosting frequent exhibitions and shows. The city has a wide variety of comfortable accommodation and good dining options.
Those with a sweet tooth should head directly to North Canton and stop in at Harry London Chocolates. Visitors can tour the factory and see how all the mouth watering chocolate treats are created. Also on site is a gift shop that sells over 500 varieties of the freshest candies straight from the factory floor.

The Hoover Historical Center in North Canton looks at the history of the Hoover Vacuum company. It's located in the childhood home of the company founder, William H. Hoover. Visitors will find everything they ever wanted to know about cleaning devices from the late 19th and early 20th Centuries. The first Hoover vacuum cleaner can be found here in the Hoover Historical Center, along with the complete history of vacuum cleaners, the Hoover company, and the Hoover family.
