Miamisburg Attractions
Miamisburg is home to the Miamisburg Mound, known for being the largest conical Indian burial mound in Ohio. It is the creation of the Adena Indians who inhabited this area between 800 BC - AD 100.
In more recent history, the Miamisburg Mound Laboratory was built in the late 1940s to oversee the US nuclear defense stockpile, including development, engineering, and manufacturing of components for nuclear weapons. This created many jobs for the area during the cold war era and the town thrived. Today the site is a massive clean up operation to try to make the site environmentally safe.
