Loudonville prides itself on the recreational opportunities that abound in this area of forest, lakes, and rivers. The Amish community in the area is known for the fine crafts they produce and sell. There are also some wonderful shops along the Victorian Main Street in Loudonville.
The Cleo Redd Fisher Museum is operated by the Mohican Historical Loudonville in Loudonville. The museum focuses on the history of the town and surrounding area. Some of the displays feature information on Native Americans, as well as one of the town's more famous residents, Charles Kettering, who invented the self starting ignition.

Mohican State Park located near Loudonville is a great spot to go to experience the best of Ohio's wilderness. Over 2 1 km / 13 mi of hiking trails, 13.5 km / 8.5 mi of biking trails, picnic sites and camping make for an enjoyable experience. The park also boasts of the Clearfork of the Mohican River, one of Ohio's best rivers for canoeing. For those less inclined to camp, luxurious accommodation can be found at the Lodge at Mohican.
