Ash Cave is one of the main highlights of Hocking Hills State Park and is located in the far south of the park. The cave is very large measuring approximately 700 feet across with is a small waterfalls flowing over the rim. Ash Cave is thought to have been was used by Indians.
Cantwell Cliffs is an area located in Hocking Hills State Park. The U-shaped cliffs drop off to the gorge below with alarming abruptness. Cantwell Cliffs are located in the north end of the park and accessible by a hiking trail.
Cedar Falls is located within Hocking Hills State Park. Visitors can take a 40 minute hiking trail to see Cedar Falls. At one time a grist mill stood at the top of the falls but now a new bridge spans the river. A close look with reveal some of the original remnants from the grist mill.
Conkles Hollow is a wonderful Ohio State Park created in 1925. Here visitors can hike through the forest and emerge at Black Hand Sandstone cliffs which tower 67 m / 200 ft above the surrounding countryside. The gorge located nearby has numerous waterfalls throughout and in some places is only 33 m / 100 ft wide.
Hocking Hills State Park near South Logan is a hot spot for spelunkers. The park is riddled with all manner of caves and caverns. Of particular note is Old Man's cave that is a result of the hollowing out of a middle layer of sandstone. Picnic and camping areas are available as are cabin rentals for those less inclined to sleep in a tent.
