The small town of Barnesville has an old town charm, with historic buildings and elegant old mansions. One of Barnesville's main events each year is the Pumpkin Festival which draws visitors from throughout the area. The Barbara Barbe Doll Museum in Barnesville showcases a variety of dolls from throughout the 20th Century. The collection is located in a historic 1930s building.
Belmont County Museum is located in a fine old Victorian mansion. The main floor of the museum has been restored and furnished in Victorian style to match the grandeur of the home. Upstairs the Belmont County Museum displays Civil War artifacts and information. In total the museum features 26 rooms.
