Union Station Description
Union Station in Ogden was built in 1924. It is a symbol of the cultural and economic changes brought to the nation and the West by the completion of the transcontinental railroad. Though it is no longer a train depot, the Station continues to attract visitors. Located within Union Station are the John M. Browning Firearms Museum, the Utah State Railroad Museum/Eccles Rail Center, Browning Kimball Car Museum, and the Natural History Museum. There are also two galleries at the station with changing displays and the Myra-Powell Gallery.

Union Station Highlights

Browning Firearms Museum

The Browning Firearms Museum in Union Station in Ogden is the only one of its kind and houses hundreds of different firearms invented by the Browning family.

Browning Kimball Car Museum

The Browning Kimball Car Museum is located in Ogden's Union Station and displays a collection of over 50 classic cars from the early 1900's. The museum offers collections ranging from a 1901 single cylinder Oldsmobile to a 1930 16 cylinder Cadillac.

M.S. Browning Theatre

The old mail terminal in Ogden's Union Station is now the home of museums, galleries, and the M.S. Browning Theater, with a seating capacity of 500.

Myra Powell Gallery

The Myra Powell Gallery is located on the second floor of the Union Station in Ogden. The gallery features rotating exhibits of local and international artists.

Natural History Museum

The Natural History Museum is located in Ogden's Union Station. It features fossils, dinosaur bones, Indian artifacts, and an impressive gem display, including a 19-pound crystal and a 7,243-carat quartz.

Utah State Railroad Museum / Eccles Rail Center
