Norwich was founded in 1659 and the town began to bustle after the wharf was established in 1668. Eventually large mills and factories sprang up along the three rivers and Norwich became a prosperous shipping center.
The town also has a baseball stadium for the CT Defenders, golf course, and ice skating rink.
