Larvik - Town Attractions
The central feature of the town of Larvik is the Market Square (Torget). On the outskirts of the town to the northwest extends a magnificent beech forest (Bøkeskogen), with a hill offering extensive views and a 1,500-year-old cemetery area. Northeast of this is the Farris Bad district of the town, with a beautiful park.
Larvik is noted for Lake Farris and the river Numedalslågen as well as the natural springs of mineral water, Farriskildene.

Herregård
To the southeast of Larvik, on Herregårdsbacken, is the Herregård, a large wooden manor house (1670-80), formerly the residence of the Counts of Larvik, which now houses the Municipal Museum.
Ironworking Museum
Storgata runs west, parallel to the railroad, to the Bødkerfjell. On this hill is a privately-owned museum with material on the ironworking industry which flourished in Larvik from 1640 to 1868 (stove plates, casting molds).
Larvik Church
To the south of Larvik's Municipal Museum, beyond the railroad, a 17th century church contains a portrait of Martin Luther by Lucas Cranach the Elder (to left of altar). From the church there is a fine view over the fjord.
Seafaring Museum
Northwest of the Larvik church, on the harbor, is the old Custom House, now occupied by a small Seafaring Museum.
