Harstad Attractions

Harstad, the chief place on the island of Hinnøy (pop. 22,000), reached on Road 83 by way of the Tjeldsund bridge, lies in a sheltered situation on the Vågsfjord, in the northeast of the island. It is an important fish-processing center. The Festival of Northern Norway (concerts, theater, exhibitions, jazz) is held here at the end of June.
