Portstewart Attractions

From Coleraine the route returns to the coast, coming after 6mi/10km to Portstewart (pop. 4,000), which has beautiful sandy beaches and a picturesque harbor. Portrush, 4mi/6km to the east, is also good for bathing and has good views across to the offshore Skerry Islands.

The road continues on to the Giant's Causeway, passing the 14th C. Dunauce Castle, built on an isolated crag and linked with the mainland by a bridge.
Portstewart Strand
Portstewart Strand is a spectacular two mile strand with a beach and an important dune system.

The beach is always open with picnic facilities nearby.

Visitor facilities open May to end of August, daily 10 - 6pm.
