Dungiven (pop. 2,200) is located southeast of Londonderry on the A6.
Banagher Old Church just outside of Dungiven is an interesting ruin featuring a nave from 1100, a chancel from 1200 and a tomb shaped as an Irish church.

On the east side of Dungiven is an Augustinian priory with an impressive 15th C. tomb of Cooey-na-Gall, an O'Cahan chief who died in 1385.
