Washburn Attractions
Washburn is a small community located along the Missouri River. Some of the local historical attractions include the Lewis & Clark Interpretive Center and Fort Mandan, the McLean Co. Historical Society Museums, Cross Ranch State Park, Fort Clark State Historical Site, and the Knife River Indian Villages National Historic Site. Washburn also has a number of natural treasures, such as the Audubon Wildlife Refuge and the recreational opportunities offered by the Missouri River.

Fort Mandan and North Dakota Lewis & Clark Interpretive Center located in Washburn is a great spot to spend an afternoon or even a full day. Here visitors will step back in time to 1804-1805 and experience what life was like for Lewis & Clark as they planned their great journey towards the Pacific Ocean. Modern facilities as well as a gift shop are located on the premises.
