A walk through town will reveal unique stores and antique shops, and is a great way to spend an afternoon.
The Mexico-Cardenas Museum is located in Waxhaw and provides a glimpse into the life and times of the former president of Mexico, Lazaro Cárdenas, who ruled Mexico from 1934-1940. Displays on his achievements feature prominently and one display, a 1938 Chevrolet car, stands out from the others.
The Museum of the Alphabet of Waxhaw highlights something that most people in todays society take for granted - the alphabet. This museum focuses on linguistics. Learn about the origins of written language, how societies functioned without it (some of which still do) and how the creation of the alphabet affected societies.
The Museum of the Alphabet looks at a variety of languages from different time frames.
