Children's Museum of Iredell County
The Children's Museum of Iredell County is a great spot to take the kids on an rainy day. Located in Statesville, the museum has a wonderful array of interactive displays that children up to age eleven will enjoy. The Children's Museum shares space with the Iredell Museum of Arts and Heritage so a visit to both could be combined.

Fort Dobbs State Historic Site
For those interested in the history of North Carolina, a visit to Fort Dobbs State Historical Site, near Statesville, is in order. When visiting the site, visitors will find the archeological ruins of Fort Dobbs, a visitor's center, walking trails, and picnic facilities. Fort Dobbs State Historical Site is handicapped accessible in all areas and a visitor center on-site sells interesting 18th Century reproductions along with other unique gifts.

Iredell Museum of Arts and Heritage
The Iredell Museum of Arts and Heritage, located in Statesville, is the cultural center for this city. The museum features a permanent collection and has gallery space where traveling national and international exhibits set up. Also on site is the Iredell Children's Museum with displays and activities targeted at those not necessarily interested in fine art.
