The wonderful natural attraction, Linville Falls, is located at mile marker 316.3 on the Blue Ridge Parkway. A great spot to spend a summer afternoon, Linville Falls, has hiking trails to various viewpoints, a visitor's center and fine picnic facilities. Note that swimming and climbing on the rocks is very dangerous and prohibited.
The community of Linville Falls is located near by on Hwy 221.
Those with a passion for spelunking will be pleased to find the Linville Caverns, North Carolina's only caverns. A wonderful array of stalagmites and stalactites all await the underground explorer including; the fish, the skeleton, the road sign, and many others. The caverns can be cool, even on the hottest summer days, so be sure to bring a sweater.

Feel the need to stretch your legs while traveling along the Blue Ridge Parkway? Linville Falls Recreation Area is a great place to do just that. Here you will find three trails that lead to Linville Falls, considered by many to be the most picturesque of the Blue Ridge Parkway. This 440 acre recreation area offers the aforementioned trails along with picnic facilities, a campground, and a campground store.
For outdoor enthusiasts, the Linville Gorge provides a plethora of activities. Fishing, hiking, backpacking, rock climbing, and hunting are just a few of the options. The Linville Gorge resulted from the scouring action of the Linville River as it descends from Grandfather Mountain. The Linville Gorge Visitor's Center is an excellent facility that provides information on the gorge itself and the surrounding areas.
