Bailey - Country Doctor Museum Attractions

The Country Doctor Museum in Bailey allows for a look at how health care was delivered in rural areas of North Carolina and across he United States from the late 18th Century to the 20th Century. The museum has a large collection of medical artifacts which it displays in three buildings. The Freeman-Brantley building displays two doctors' offices along with an apothecary. Building The Carriage House deals with the transportation aspect of health care, including everything needed for making house calls. The Farmer Annex contains the gift shop, Museum office, and display space.

Visitors can take a guided tour of these buildings with staff available to answer questions.
