Thailand Hotels
Wat Chaloem Phra Kiat, which, when viewed from Nonthaburi, stands a short distance upstream on the other side of the Menam, can be reached either by boat (to be rented in the town) or by regular ferries. The wat was constructed in the first half of the 19th c.; two high encircling walls - the first with battlements, the second characterized by small Chinese towers - surround the site. The richly ornamented main temple and the chedi are remarkable for their pleasing proportions. Only the ruins of two further temples remain.
