Nice - Vieille Ville 
The lively and picturesque Old Town of Nice, with its maze of tiny alleyways and streets, in which one could be forgiven for imagining oneself transported to Italy, is popularly known as "Babazouk". It opens out at the western end of the Colline du Château and in the northwest is bounded by spacious boulevards and parks, which extend over the Paillon (Jardin Albert I, Place Masséna, Promenade du Paillon). In the south it is bordered by the Ponchettes, in which fishmongers and grocers supplement the wares on display at the market on the adjoining Cours Saleya.

St Jacques
On the Rue Droit in Nice, stands the former Jesuit church of St Jacques, which dates from the 17 century and has a richly adorned interior and colorful stucco decorations. The Corinthian pilasters extend sufficiently far out into the nave for it to be possible to lay an ambulatory on top of them.

Near the eastern end of the Cours Saleya (no.3), a short distance to the west of the steps descending from the castle hill, can be found a department of the Musée d'Histoire Naturelle with an aquarium and an interesting collection of molluscs.

Quai des Etats-Unis
The Quai des Etats-Unis, the eastern part of the cours Saleya, flanking the Baie des Anges in Nice, was called the Quai du Midi until 1917. Its change of name was a gesture of thanks to the U.S.A. on the occasion of that country's entry into World War I.
Ste Réparate
The Cathedral of Ste-Réparate in the Place Rossetti in Nice is the episcopal church and was built in the 17th C. It contains elaborate ornamental plasterwork, fine choir-stalls and wooden paneling in the Sacristy.
