Nice - Cemenelum Roman Settlement

On a plateau in front of Mont Gros in the district of Cimiez can be seen the considerable remains of the Roman settlement of Cemenelum. The amphitheater (over 5,000 seats) and the baths, the largest complex in Gaul, are well preserved. The existence here of an early Christian church has also been proved.
