Wanton-Lyman-Hazard House Description
The Wanton-Lyman-Hazard House is the oldest surviving house in Newport and was built for Stephen Mumford in 1697. It has a long history of owners who made additions or alterations.

The house was purchased in 1927 by the Newport Historical Society. Norman Isham, a noted restoration architect was hired to restore the property. He used various styles and periods to showing the evolution of the house.
