Newberg - Champoeg State Heritage Area

The Champoeg State Heritage Area is located southeast of Newberg. It is the site of the 1834 vote to form Oregon's first provisional government. The park is a scenic area with camping and picnic facilities. The park's forest and wetlands are great places for viewing wildlife.

Pioneer Mothers' Memorial Cabin

The Pioneer Mothers' Memorial Cabin in the Champoeg State Heritage Area is furnished with pioneer items. It was built in 1931 as a memorial to pioneer mothers.

Robert Newell House Museum

The Robert Newell House Museum in the Champoeg State Heritage Area is a reconstruction of an 1852 home. The collection includes gowns of governors' wives, antique quilts and other period items. Also on the grounds are a historic jail and school house.
