The High Falls Gorge ravine is cut into the base of Whiteface Mountain by the Ausable River. One set of the trails is used in the summer and winter to access a natural gorge on steel bridges, walkways and groomed paths. The second set of trails is used for hiking in the summer and snowshoeing in the winter.

This roadway leads to the parking area near the summit of Whiteface Mountain. The summit can be reached by a hiking trail or electric elevator set in the cone of the peak.
