Troy was the location where the character, Uncle Sam, was born. Sam Wilson, a meat packer, used a meat stamp that read U S Beef. This was understood to mean Uncle Sam's Beef.

The Children's Museum of Science and Technology (CMOST) is designed to allow parents and children the opportunity to learn about science together. Exhibits include the animal nursery, light and vision, Hudson River, motion and the watershed table.

Uncle Sam's Grave
This is the site of the grave of Samuel Wilson, the original "Uncle Sam". An Army beef contractor in the War of 1812; his trademark and caricature eventually became a national legend.
