Sackets Harbor Attractions
Sackets Harbor was the United States' most important shipbuilding center during the War of 1812. The headquarters for the U.S. Navy on the Great Lakes, it was home to thousands of shipwrights, carpenters, sailors, and soldiers gathered to construct, sail, and defend the fleet. During the War of 1812, one third of the United States Army, and a quarter of its Navy, were stationed at Sackets Harbor.
Pickering-Beach Historical Museum
Life in Sackets Harbor during the 19th century is presented through the Pickering Cottage and the Pickering-Beach House. The Cottage was built in 1809 and the House was built circa 1817.

Sackets Harbor Battlefield State Historic Site
Sackets Harbor Battlefield State Historic Site highlights life after the war between the United States and Great Britain in 1812. Sackets Harbor was the center of American naval and military activity for the upper St. Lawrence Valley and Lake Ontario. The historic site features demonstrations of 1813 army camp life and a restored 1850s Navy Yard and Commandant's House.
