Guided tours of the 1864 Italianate House of History museum, including period rooms and exhibits highlighting the history of Franklin County, NY. Popular exhibits on U.S. Vice-President and Malone native William A. Wheeler, Mohawk village diorama, pioneer tools, spinning wheels, and one-room schooling. The House of History is also the headquarters of the Franklin County Historical and Museum Society.
Tips: Winter hours: Thursday and Friday, 1-4pm for research. Tours of the museum by appointment only.

The Almanzo Wilder Homestead consists of 84 acres of farmland, woods, the original post and beam restored farmhouse (1840-1843), reconstructed barns and outbuildings, a museum, research library, orchard, covered picnic pavilion, and nature trail to the Wilder family frontage on the Trout River.
Guided tours of Wilder's boyhood home, which is also the setting for Laura Ingalls Wilder's novel "Farmer Boy", are available. Period furniture, family photographs, and a model of the farm are on display.
