Crown Point Attractions
Crown Point is located on Lake Champlain and offers opportunity for skiing, boating and fishing. Crown Point was the site of military engagements in the French and Indian War, and during the American Revolution. It was captured by Seth Warner`s Vermont militia, but retaken by the British in 1777 and held until the end of the war.
Champlain Memorial Lighthouse
Samuel de Champlain passed this way on his voyage of discovery in 1609 upon the lake named after him. The lighthouse was erected in 1912 and contains a bas relief sculpted by Auguste Rodin.
Penfield Homestead Historical Museum
The Penfield Foundation Museum complex features many 19th century buildings that is dedicated to the history of the Ironworking Industry in the North Country. It is listed as the "Birthplace of the Electric Age", being the site of the first industrial application of electricity in the United States.
