Canajoharie Attractions

The name comes from an American Indian expression meaning "the washed pot". The pot refers to a large pothole in the nearby Canajoharie Creek Gorge. The Dutch and Germans settled the area in the early 1700s.

The Canajoharie Library and Art Gallery houses 350 works of art that began with a collection from Bartlett Arkell, founder of the Beech-Nut Company.
