New York - Lower East Side Tenement Museum
This Lower East Side Tenement Museum chronicles tenement life in the Lower East Side, an immigrant portal for over 150 years. Until 1879, there were no regulations governing construction or maintenance of the East Side tenements where thousands of immigrants from the world over huddled together. Changing exhibits, slide shows and walking shows are part of the museum's services.
