Columbus Attractions

The Columbus Historical Society Museum has artifacts from the Pancho Villa raid and the towns railroad history.

Hacienda del Sur Air Park is five miles north of Columbus, with a replica of the plane used by the First Aero Squad in retaliation against Pancho Villa.

The Old Customs House in Columbus has artifacts and a film about Pancho Villa.

Pancho Villa State Park commemorates the raid on Columbus by General Francisco "Pancho" Villa on March 9, 1916. There are ruins of an old fort and an exhibit hall containing a full-size replica airplane, historic artifacts, military weapons and an armored tank located outside the facility.
